Anik See is a Canadian-Dutch freelance audio documentary maker and writer covering the environment, data and tech for social good, democracy and migration.
With over 20 years of experience, she covers impactful, solutions-oriented stories that change the dominant narrative by giving voice to other perspectives. She lives near Rotterdam.
Audio
With decades of media production experience under her belt, Anik tells meaningful stories for public broadcasters as well as independent, collaborative and transmedia projects.
Her audio documentaries have been commissioned by the BBC, CBC, and ABC, as well as Dutch media and public broadcasting. She has also served as a consultant at Project Brazen.
As editor-in-chief and head of production at Audio Agency Airborne, she oversaw the production of the agency’s award-winning scripted narrative series.
Lecturer
Anik teaches journalistic writing and multimedia storytelling as well as journalistic innovation for bachelor’s and master’s-level studies at the University of Groningen.
She also teaches independent workshops in audio, storytelling and writing at all post-secondary levels of education and is a regular guest lecturer in the English Masters program at Louvain-la-Neuve University in Belgium.
Anik’s writing has appeared in many journals and magazines such as The Walrus, Brick, National Geographic, The National Post, and Toronto Life, and has been nominated for numerous awards.
Books
Anik is the author of four books: A Fork in the Road, Saudade, postcard and other stories, and Cabin Fever. She has also contributed to several anthologies, and a selection of her work has been translated into Dutch.
